How to Cancel a League

1. Go to Leagues in the menu on the left.
2. Search for the League you want to cancel.
3. Click on the three dots on the right.
4. Select “Cancel League”.

From the three dots menu, you can also Copy a League, Copy the public link of a league and Export Players of a league.

What happens after I cancel a league?

• No new rounds or matches are generated.
• Teams can no longer join the league.
• Existing results stay in the league history.
• Players receive an email telling them the league has been cancelled.

Are teams refunded when I cancel a league?

It depends on when you cancel the league:

• Before the enrolment end date: teams that paid in the Playtomic app are refunded automatically to their original payment method. You don't need to do anything.
• After the enrolment end date: teams are not refunded automatically. This also applies if the league has already started. If you want to refund the teams, you need to do it directly with them, outside Playtomic.

Automatic refunds take between 2 and 10 business days, depending on the player's bank.

Teams you added yourself from Playtomic Manager don't pay in Playtomic. If you charged them at your club, you manage any refund with them directly.

What happens if a league doesn't reach the minimum number of teams?

If the league doesn't have the minimum number of teams (Minimum Teams) by the enrolment end date, it is cancelled automatically:

• Teams that paid in the Playtomic app are refunded automatically to their original payment method within 2 to 10 business days.
• Players receive an email telling them the league has expired.

You set Minimum Teams in League Rules when you create the league. Before the enrolment end date, you can change it in Settings > League Rules. Lowering it lets the league go ahead with fewer teams.

Can I cancel a league and keep the payments? Only if you cancel it after the enrolment end date. If you cancel it before that date, teams that paid in the app are refunded automatically.

Do I need to refund teams manually when I cancel a league? Only if you cancel it after the enrolment end date and want to refund the teams, or if you charged a team at your club. Otherwise, Playtomic refunds teams automatically.

Does this work the same for every billing model? Yes. Cancellation and refunds work the same way for all billing models.
