How to Start a Round
The league manager starts a new round once all teams, players and groups are set up and the matchday calendar is ready. This article explains how to start a round, when the matches are created and when you can start the next round.
Steps to start a round
- Rearrange teams within the groups (optional).
- Set the dates for each matchday.
- Click Start Round.
Note: You can't start the round if a matchday has no dates. Set the dates of every matchday first.
When are the matches created?
All the matches of the round are created at the moment you click Start Round, not on the league's start date. Each match is placed on a day inside the date range you set for its matchday.
Matches will be automatically created based on:
- Match duration set in the league's match rules.
- League timeframes set in your league's Settings > Timeframes.
- Selected courts.
- Matchday dates.
- Real-time availability of the courts.
Matches are only created inside the league timeframes and on the courts selected for the league. Make sure these slots are free when you start the round.
What if there aren't enough free slots?
If a matchday doesn't have enough free slots for all its matches, the round doesn't start: no matches are created and you see an error. Before you start a round, check that your league timeframes and courts have enough free slots for every matchday. If needed, free up slots in your schedule or add timeframes or courts in the league settings.
When can I start the next round?
You can start the next round after you close the current one. Closing a round is manual: it doesn't happen automatically.
- Close the current round.
- Teams move between groups according to your promotion and relegation settings.
- Set the dates for each matchday of the next round.
- Click Start Round.
We recommend you close a round only when all its matches are played and the results are entered. Once a round is closed, you can't edit its teams.
