How Set Validation Works in Leagues
The system categorizes sets into Invalid, Completed, or Incomplete based on game scores. Here’s a quick guide:
Invalid Set
- One team has exactly 7 games
- One team has 7 games, while the other has fewer than 5
- One team has no games recorded, and the other’s games are empty or null
- Both teams have exactly 7 games
Completed Set
- One team has 6 games, and the other has 4 or fewer
- One team has 7 games, and the other has 5 or 6
Incomplete Set
- Both teams have fewer than 6 games
Note: Decimals are not allowed for match scores.
Score Validation
The system validates scores based on the match structure:
Invalid Match Score
- There’s an invalid set in the match
- An incomplete set appears in the middle of the match
- More than one set is incomplete
Completed Match Score
- One team has won 2 sets, while the other team has won 1 set (no incomplete or invalid sets)
- One team has won 2 sets, while the other has won none (no incomplete or invalid sets)
Incomplete Match Score
- Both teams have won 1 set
- Both teams have won 1 set, but the 3rd set is incomplete
- No team has won a set, and the 1st set is incomplete
- One team has won the 1st set, and the 2nd set is incomplete
Handling Incomplete Matches
Since ties are not allowed in padel and tennis matches, you can choose to award points based on partial results or by completed sets only. Points will be calculated for each set based on its completion status.
Determining Team Positions within a Group
Teams with equal points are ranked using these criteria:
- Head-to-head Results: If Team A defeated Team B, Team A will rank higher.
- Sets Won vs. Sets Lost: The team with more sets won ranks higher.
- Games Won vs. Games Lost: The team with more games won ranks higher.
- Overall Sets Difference: The team with a greater difference between won and lost sets ranks higher.
- Overall Games Difference: The team with a greater difference between won and lost games ranks higher.
- Total Sets Won: The team with more sets won in total ranks higher.
- Total Games Won: The team with more games won in total ranks higher.
- Alphabetical Order: If all criteria are equal, teams are ordered alphabetically by name.
Moving Teams Up or Down
At the end of each round, you can set how many teams will be promoted or relegated. After the round, you can also adjust teams manually by dragging and dropping them as needed.
Absence and Forfeit Scores
If a team misses a match, they may incur a point deduction:
- One Absent Team: The absent team loses 1 point, and the attending team earns points for a “Winner in 2 Sets.”
- Double Absence: Both teams lose points for a “Double Absence.”
