How to manage teams in a league

This article explains how to add, edit and remove teams in a league in Playtomic Manager, and what happens to their payment.

What can I do with the teams in a league?

  • Add a new team.
  • Edit an existing team.
  • Remove a team that no longer wants to take part.
  • Move teams between groups.

How do I add a new team?

  1. Go to Leagues in the menu on the left.
  2. Click the league you need from the list.
  3. Go to the Groups tab.
  4. Click Add Team on the right.
  5. Search for each player by name, email or mobile phone.
  6. The new team is added to the round with the Next status.

Note: You can't add a team if the league is full.

Teams you add from Playtomic Manager don't pay in Playtomic. If you charge them, you do it at your club.

How do I edit an existing team?

  1. Go to the Groups tab.
  2. Click the team you want to edit.
  3. Change any of the registered players.

Note: You can't edit a team once the round has finished.

How do I replace a player in an ongoing league?

If a player needs to be replaced, for example because of an injury, you can update the team:

  • When you change a player, all future matches for that team are updated automatically.
  • Matches that have already been played are not updated.

How do I remove a team from a league?

  1. Go to the Groups tab.
  2. Click the team you want to remove.
  3. Click the trash can icon.

Note: You can only remove a team when the round status is Next or Upcoming, and before the match days calendar has been set.

Is the team refunded when I remove it?

  • The team paid in the Playtomic app and enrolled before the enrolment end date: it is refunded automatically to its original payment method within 2 to 10 business days.
  • You added the team from Playtomic Manager: the team didn't pay in Playtomic, so there is no automatic refund. If you charged it at your club, you manage the refund with the team directly.

Changing or removing one player from a team doesn't trigger a refund.
