How to configure "Open Matches" at your Club

In Playtomic, the match system is designed to make your Club more profitable while giving players a smooth and fun experience. 

Activate Open Matches at Your Club

Open Matches are automatically created by Playtomic Manager at all available times in your club schedule. You don't need to manually create them — Playtomic does it for you! All you need to do is activate Open Matches for your club:

1. Go to the Matches section in the left menu and click the ⚙️ gear icon to open the match settings.
2. Activate the toggle for Padel or Tennis. Choose between "Only Double" or "Single & Double" courts.
3. Define the characteristics of the matches that will be published at your club: you can set whether matches are doubles or singles, as well as the level range.
4. Set the Initial Match Level and the Final Match Level for when the first player joins (see explanation below).
5. Click Save.

Understanding the Level Range

The level range defines the spread of player levels accepted in a match once the first player joins.

• Initial match level — This is the lower bound of the level range. For example, if the value is −0.25 and the first player has a level of 4.0, the match's minimum level is set to 3.75.
• Final match level — This is the upper bound of the level range. For example, if the value is +0.75 and the first player has a level of 4.0, the match's maximum level is set to 4.75.

⚠️ These settings only apply to Open Matches launched by your club. They do not apply to competitive or friendly matches launched or opened directly by players through the app.

Important Information about Open Matches

• To register for a match, players must pay online (by card or wallet). Their spot is only confirmed after payment, so everyone knows who’s actually attending.
• If a match isn’t filled or if a player withdraws, they will get an immediate refund.
• Players can choose between competitive or casual matches. Only results from competitive matches will affect their ranking.
• The match level adjusts dynamically, based on the first player to join (-0.25 / +0.75). If a player doesn't match the level, others can reject their request.
• A court is not reserved immediately when a player creates an Open Match. The booking is only confirmed automatically when certain player thresholds or time limits are met, or if an admin manually assigns a court from the Playtomic Manager. More information is available in this article.
• Since the final court assignment happens as the match fills, the price per player may vary. If availability changes or if you have courts with the same properties but different rates, players joining at different times may pay different fees based on the court available at that moment.
• The system will only assign a court that matches the specific properties of the original request (e.g., if a player joins a "Panoramic" court, the system will never move them to a "Wall" court).
• Open match duration: the default duration is 90 minutes. It shortens to 60 minutes only if availability allows 60 minutes only.
• Advance booking by category: early booking privileges do not apply to open matches. This is by design for fair access. There is currently no way to enable advance booking for specific player categories.
