How to add participants to a Tournament in Playtomic Manager

Do you need to sign up a player yourself? This article explains how to add participants to a tournament from Playtomic Manager, set a custom fee and choose how the payment is settled.

How to add a participant

1. Go to Tournaments.
2. Open the tournament session where you want to add the player.
3. Go to the Players tab.
4. Click Add participants.
5. Add the player.

How to customise a participant's fee

After you add the player, click Edit next to their name and enter a custom amount. This is useful for discounts or special pricing.

How to mark the payment

You have two options:

• Mark it as paid at the club: use an onsite payment method or the club wallet, if the player has enough balance.
• Leave it unmarked: the player gets a push notification and an email asking them to pay in the app.

How do players pay for the tournament in the app?

When you leave the payment unmarked, the player can pay in the app in three ways:

• Push notification: tapping it takes them straight to the payment page.
• Pending payment reminder: a Pending payment message appears on the app's Home screen. Tapping it takes them to the payment page.
• Tournament details: they go to Profile > Your Activity > Events > Your Events, open the tournament and pay from there.

Players can pay before or after the tournament is played.

How do in-app payments help my club?

• Players get a payment request as soon as you add them.
• You can see who has paid and who hasn't in Playtomic Manager in real time.
• You can collect payments before you publish the draw, which means fewer unpaid spots and no-shows.
• It works for both single and double registrations.
• Your cancellation and refund rules still apply.

How to re-add a player you removed by mistake

There's no recovery step. Add the player again from the tournament's Players tab with Add participants.

• Do players' levels change when they take part in tournaments? No. Tournaments don't affect player levels.
• How do players sign up for a tournament from the app? Players can find tournaments on the Compete screen or in the Competitions tab of the club's profile. For more details, see How to join a tournament.
• Do players need to book all sessions in a recurring tournament? No. Players can book individual sessions without signing up for the whole series.
