- Player Level in the App
When a player creates their profile in the Playtomic app, they fill out a questionnaire to set their starting level. This level is just an estimate and will change as they play more games and the app gets more information from actual match results.
Playtomic Level Scale (0-7)
Playtomic uses a scale from 0 to 7 to rate players based on their skills. Here’s a quick breakdown of the levels:
- Less than 1 (Initiation): Players with no or very little experience in racket sports.
- 1.0-1.49 (Beginner): New players who are still learning the basics.
- 1.5-2.4 (Initiation Intermediate): Players getting more familiar with the game but not yet skilled.
- 2.5-3.4 (Intermediate): Players with more developed skills and a basic understanding of tactics.
- 3.5-4.4 (Intermediate High): Players who are more confident and use better strategies.
- 4.5-5.4 (Intermediate Advanced): Skilled players who know how to switch between attack and defense.
- 5.4-5.6 (Competition): Players who take part in tournaments.
Players move up through these levels as they play more, improve their skills, and get better at the game.
Reliability Percentage
The reliability of a player’s level is the most important factor in how their level changes over time. It shows how accurate their current level is based on their match results. Players build reliability by playing competitive matches.
- Low reliability: The player’s level changes a lot after each game because the app is still trying to figure out their true skill.
- High reliability: The player’s level only changes a little because the app is more sure of their skill level.
After every competitive match, Playtomic calculates the new level based on the team’s average level and the performance of each player. Depending on how well they did, the player’s level will go up or down.
